    • P. Dean Warner was born in Schuyler Co. NY, August 12 1822 and was less then 3 years of age, when his family moved to Oakland Co. MI. At the age of 15, he left his parents and proceeded to begin his career in the merchantile business. He began as a clerk in a county store. During this time period, he returned to school and also spend a short time, clerking in Detroit.

      He served in official positions early. First, a Justice of the Peace, later, a clerk and supervisor. By 1846, he was able to purchase part interest in a small stock of goods and established his own store. By 1850, he was elected a Democratic member of the House of Representives. He served one term. P. Dean Warner recognized a new political organization, and decided to change his affliation. In 1864, he was again selected as a member of the House of Representatives. This time, serving two terms and was chosen spearker of the House in his second term. He ended his service in the legislature by retiring from his term of office in the senate, in 1870.

      Though P. Dean Warner was recognized as a lawmaker and active in other business ventures, he was the best known as the village storekeeper and banker. He had been a friend of the community and three generations of Farmington people for 70 years.

      P. Dean and Rhoda married 8 Nov 1845 in Ann Arbor. P. Dean lived until 28 Aug 1910 and died of old age in Farmington. His wife, Rhoda Elizabeth Botsford, outlived him until 11 Aug 1911. Both are buried in Oakwood Cemetery, Farmington
