Voters in Liberty Township, Hendricks County, Indiana (1841)

This is a transcription of a poll book found by the Indiana Genealogical Society during their project to preserve and organize probate records in Hendricks County, Indiana. The poll book was for an election that was held at Belleville in Liberty Township, Hendricks County, Indiana on Saturday, June 26, 1841 for the purpose of electing a Justice of the Peace for Liberty Township.

There were 280 registered voters (James Wright was listed twice). The results of the election were as follows:
James S. Odell: 138 votes
C.T. Swindler: 112 votes
Simon Hornaday: 20 votes
Young Short: 9 votes
The judges were: Robert Cooper, Jonathan Cope and Samuel C. Mitchell.
James McClure, Clerk and R.C. Moore attested to the results. The results were filed in the Hendricks County Clerk's office June 30, 1841 by James M. Gregg, Clerk.
